User Account Reassignment

At greenmatch, user accounts are strictly personal and linked to an individual’s email address. However, certain situations may require a user account to be reassigned to a colleague. To avoid losing access to important project data and ensure operational continuity, the existing user account can be reassigned to a new user. This article outlines the requirements and process for requesting a user reassignment in greenmatch.

When to request a user reassignment

A user reassignment may be necessary in the following cases:

  • A team member leaves the company and no longer requires access to greenmatch.
  • A team member moves into a new role and another colleague takes over their responsibilities.

In these cases, to preserve access to project data without manually re-sharing each project, the user account can be reassigned to a new email address – typically that of the colleague taking over the work in greenmatch.

Important requirements

To ensure a smooth and successful reassignment, the following conditions must be met:

  • The new email address must not already be associated with an existing greenmatch account. If the new email address is already registered, the reassignment cannot be performed without losing the projects already associated with that user.
  • The reassignment request must be submitted by email. We will contact the user administrator to obtain approval for the reassignment.
    Please send your request to support@greenmatch.ch and include the following details:
    • The email address of the user account that should be reassigned
    • The email address to which the account should be reassigned
    • The desired effective date and time of the reassignment

Alternative: Project sharing

If the new user already has a greenmatch account, we recommend sharing the relevant projects while the original user still has access to their account.
Best practice: Before a user leaves the company, share their projects with the new responsible person using the project sharing function. This avoids the need for a full account reassignment

What happens after the reassignment

Once your request has been approved and processed:

The link is valid for 72 hours. If it expires before being used, a new link can be requested by contacting support@greenmatch.ch.
