How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Since summer 2024, all greenmatch users are required to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for their accounts. This measure aligns with greenmatch’s commitment to adopting state-of-the-art security practices.

Setting Up 2FA

2FA must be configured when activating a user account or logging in for the first time. To enable 2FA, an authentication app is required. All major authentication apps, such as Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator, are supported. Please note that one-time codes (OTCs) will not be sent via SMS or email.

In this example, we demonstrate how to set up 2FA using a commonly used authentication app.

Step 1: Activation

Click on the “Link to account update” and then on Click here to proceed:

Step 2: Scan the QR Code

Follow the on-screen instructions and scan the displayed QR code using your preferred authentication app on your mobile device. Once scanned, you will see an entry named “greenmatch: your email”, displaying a six-digit code. Enter this code in the One-Time Code field within the greenmatch app.

To help you remember which mobile device you used to set up 2FA, you can also enter your device’s name in the additional field.

Step 3: Finalise the Setup

After entering the OTC, click “Submit”, then select “Back to Login” to access the greenmatch software.

Logging in with 2FA

Each time you log in to greenmatch, you will be prompted to enter the one-time code generated by your authentication app on the mobile device used initially.

Reinitialising 2FA

If you need to reset your 2FA, for example, after switching to a new mobile device, please contact support@greenmatch.ch. Our support team will send a new activation link to the email address associated with your greenmatch account, allowing you to set up 2FA again.
